At the moment we have an Oyster dish but are looking to change our moty which does not have one fitted. We have been looking at the dome dishes the thinking being if the weather is less kind and quite windy it is still usable ( we never tended to use ours in very windy weather) has anybody had both and preferred one to the other or any tips etc on what to look for or avoid. Our present one was already fitted when we bought it.

Domes tend to have smaller dishes and are not so good in fringe areas but if all you want is TV in the UK domes are the way to go.

Just make sure that you do not park under a tree when pitching up.

Ensure good overhead clearance (dish view) between East and South that should do it.

I have just installed a Vqube 2. I am so far, very impressed. I have used portable ground standing ones before which were ok but really not up to the job.

Beauty of the Vqube is that I can take it off and leave the wiring gubbins if I decide to change the Moho.

Not had experience of a ‘dish’ but you have already indicated that windy weather isn’t their friend.

    Good luck
