Or as per Chaucer "Right as diverse pathes leden the folk the righte wey to Rome."

    You'll get there.

WTG, wasn't to sure if we would get on with a PVC after having a coachbuilt that was very wide. But it has been surprising just how much room we do have.

The nearside seating has no equipment in it so is all storage (Cadac goes in there no bother and leaves loads of room for OH's tool box and other items. The off side has a couple of areas to put things like bulky shoes and a fan heater (always carry one just in case) and still a bit more space for something else.

Its in getting a tow bar fitted today, we have 2 full sized ebikes  so can't put them on the door bike rack as they are to heavy. OH has stripped down the door bike rack and made a plate for the bottom of it, the chairs now sit on that. The bike rack is a Thule and just clamps onto the tow ball.

The length of the van is 6.3m and with the tow bar + bikes on its still under 7m. As BF who we use, charge by the metre we would have been in the up to 7m price anyway so no difference there.

Our van is not a new one (4 yrs old) but the new ones have got a fly screen at the sliding door plus other extras.

Auto trail also make a 'Sports' version in their PVC's, these don't have the 2 rear opening back doors but it has a tailgate and there is access to storage under the seating as the  floor at the rear is raised. These vans are more akin to the British caravan layout.

I don't envy you the task of finding something that will tick all your boxes, it took us 2 years to find ours smile

    Good luck and happy hunting.

WTG, love it. We have been doing some of the things you mentioned.

Been thinking about a small pop up tent for longer stays, we've got a couple of folding tables already one has adjustable legs and 3 different heights so really handy.

We've been trying to replicate how we would tour when abroad, the only thing we've not had was the lovely weather but if we can survive in poring rain for days then I think we have made a good start.

I love being inventive to and OH is really handy with the tools when I have a brain wave laughing
