Battery box barrel lock
My battery box lock on my Bailey Pursuit Plus 430/4 has been vandalised and battery stolen. Struggling to remove lock and not sure what lock removal key I need, and whether it will work given the damage. Considering other option of buying new door but Bailey cant supply a lock until September. Anybody had similar experience and and is it a straightforward job to put in a new lock, maybe a generic lock available on ebay. Any guidance would be appreciated. Thanks

Sorry to hear about your problem. Think the battery door lock is different from others , had a quick look and they are on my Bailey Ranger, so make sure you get the right one! If you can remove the lock a quick Google search will show that you can get a replacement lock for just over £12. If you need a new door complete they are about £50 and you will probably get away with replacing just the facia part (where the lock is). Not sure there is a lock removal key. Try using a metal bit on your drill in the centre of the lock it may get it off, nothing to lose if not! Have a chat with your local dealer or Service Engineer.

Re my above. Sorry, have just seen a video and there is a lock removal tool! He shows using the tool or an old steak knife. Just Google ' 'How to remove vandalised lock on caravan battery box door' and you will see it. Replacing the door is a simple but more expensive solution. I had to change the door (No 5 I think it is called) to the external storage a few years ago. No problems and I was able to reuse the old locks thus saving having yet another key. Hope this helps.
