Linking Aquarolls.

Is it possible to link two Aquaroll together, so as one empties, the other comes into use? There is a big demand for fully serviced pitches, so this might be an answer to running out during a shower!

Isn’t it quite easy to check you’re using a full Aquaroll before taking a shower? I’m all for keeping things simple 👍🏻

Keep aqua roll full and do the sae as us have a couple watering cans always full to top up if needed (send OH out to do it)

Anything is possible,

you could have a float switch operated submersible pump from the first roll pumping into the second. Which would need a power supply of some sort of course.

Or

raise the first roll higher than the second so gravity fills the second roll from the first via a float valve which stops the water flow when the second roll is full.

My van only has a 34ltr internal tank so I am fully aware of this kind of issue and have just designed something similar, external tank filling the internal tank. My external tank can be filled from a hose permanently connected, or by another water carrier, with a  submersible pump feeding into the van controlled via a level switch. Not used in anger yet but it works on my drive!

I do remember a kit on sale to link two aqaurolls being sold a few years ago. I seem to recall you had to lay them on their side then put the pump in through the side opening and the connecting hose had to be near the ground. You could make your own like this - found by googling it.

They'll both empty at the same time so perhaps not what your looking for?

Another solution - which I have for a particular CS we are going to on Saturday - a four-way tap splitter.

Although I think under present circumstances, the vans will be more spread out - there is a possibility that three vans could be sharing one water point. The tap splitter allows me to plumb into the water - and also anyone else who may want to.  Saves me having to come into contact with any taps during our stay and I'll simply disinfect the splitter when we leave.

The waste master holds slightly less than a full aquaroll and will need emptying in any case, unless on a CL and allowed to run waste into a hedge. Just switch over barrels when you empty the waste.

In normal times I would agree David. On non facility sites, occasionally used between the facility sites, I am happier to have a strip wash for our typical 5 night stay as I often did in the early days, rather than the faff of cleaning showers.

As ET says in normal times I would agree. Unfortunately things are far from normal and even if the OP is happy to use them, it may require queueing. Although I suppose if it's raining you could get your shower before you reach the door.😉

here are sone  picturers i found of the same idea as earlier  with a level gauge  so you can see how  much water is still  in the barrel,  there seem to be vairous option available.

Looks like a lot of hard work to me, having to lift a pair of full aquarolls onto the stand, and having a trip factor with the connecting pipe.IMO it is much easier having two full ones and using one at a time, with just checking that there sufficient water for the job in the one connected to the van before taking a shower.

For generations of caravans going back to the days when we had a twin axle with an onboard tank, we’ve installed a duplicate inlet with an internal changeover facility. With submersible pumps the changeover is an electrical switch. With a contemporary inside pump, the changeover needs to be plumbing based. The only constraint is to empty the waste water after washing up dinner. All that remains is for the dry team member to switch over during our morning shower.
