Having contacted the club with reference to the Coronavirus lockdown, I, along with many other members I've spoken to, feel that it's unfair that the Club aren't offering any sort of sweetener for the members who have now lost several months from their 12month membership, to my mind it would be a generous gesture for the Club to offer members, when due, a renewal of 16 months for the price of 12, all we read is, please renew your membership to support the Club, well how about the Club supporting the members and enable us and our money to be appreciated, the Caravan and Camping Club are offering a subscription deal, whether that is from pressure by the members of a committee decision I'm not sure, my phone conversation was along the lines of,

the Club feel they offer a good deal with the discounts on offer !! that'll be the discounts on offer all year round then

the Club are offering 20% off discount vouchers !! at a time when tens of thousands of people have been on furlough so money is in short supply anyway,

the Club have offered the opportunity to book sites a few EXTRA months in advance !! many many people can't plan their holidays that far in advance

I'm sure  I don't stand alone, am I being unreasonable ? please feel free to share your thoughts,

Stay Safe everybody....... Brian

Yes you are being unreasonable if what the Club offers is to your liking, the Club has offerings that I need (other than sites) and I would like the Club to survive this pandemic so I will support them. Don't you think the Club is suffering financially also?

If/when I no longer need the Clubs offerings then I'll have another think about it.

Personally I think it would be nice if the club gave members the option, as other organisations have. Although many of those are charities, which the club most certainly isn't. Folk might be on reduced earnings, however if they are intending using the CAMC when it opens for business, even purchasing £100 of vouchers would give a saving of £17:50. More than a 3 month extension. Most extensions take the form of 3 months added to the next year. So there is no monetary saving at the next renewal date, just a deferral of the next.

I don't think that you are being unreasonable and many will have lost 3 months of booking availability during the main touring season.

Personally I am not fussed either way.

There are many businesses that need support at present. My local barber will certainly get an extra tenner on his usual tip if hr reopens.

I don't think the OP is being unreasonable.

There are offers of goodwill are being handed out from companies/organisations who are suffering the same problems as the club. We have got to think of people who have less income or lost their income where an extension would help a little at renewal.

I have received and extension to an insurance policy and a refund from my car insurance. I didn't even ask. Plus C&CC offered a three month extension as a gesture to members

    Good will works both ways
