To the OP, after 450 posts in response to your question you may have observed:

The CAMC is a classic example of the me me me society created over the decades by our elders. Have you tried a cruise yet? Very similar exhibitions of behaviour by elders. Yet people wonder where the youngsters get it from

In order to make best advantage of your membership you must learn to play the system.

To fully play the system you can now book 21 nights in every month one year in advance, at any time up to 72 hours before the start of your booking you can amend it to take the few nights / weekends / weeks you actually want to use, or cancel them all, with no penalty. It's in the rules. Only takes a few minutes once a month to push the buttons on a keyboard, after all.

As an oldy I must have missed the lesson on how to book up all dates. I found out, probably 80 years ago that booking a series of 5 night halts on a tour route was better done two months before than a month before and particularly for CMC sites. So I plan further ahead for my series of 5 night stops. This year I booked my tour sites in February for mid April until mid May and also for 12th June until 26th July. Our September trip is usually booked end of July. Not had a problem but suspect that I would have had this year with the effect of Covid on subsequent bookings.

Personally, I have never booked in advance of more than a week, have never cancelled a booking and have only once arrived at a site before 12.noon (by 5 minutes). I work midweek and cover for others at very short notice and as many sites are fully booked for Friday and Saturday nights, usually only tend to stay at non honeypot sites.  I definitely agree with the gist of your post though, especially about the me, me attitude of many!

Which wardens at which sites told you that motor homes can park how they like?  Did you make your complaints known to the Club and if so, what did they say? Perhaps, as you obviously dislike motorhomers, you could try the CCC as they have more sites which have a minimum night rule, or you could start up your own club along with other anti motorhomers, strictly for caravans only of course.

    Classic Oscar Wilde this thread😂

”The young know everything, the middle aged suspect everything, and the elderly believe everything”😂
