Holiday parks responsibility
Good evening all,
Hope your keeping well. Was hoping for some advice please.
What insurances do holiday parks legally have to take out?
Reason for asking. My family and I are new to having a seasonal pitch and have committed to a season alongside friends for the year. We had set up before lockdown of covid-19 and verbally had agreements with site owners that security was around, barriers were secure etc and facilities were ready to use etc. Over lockdown my friends had to pop down to secure awnings as the wind had pulled a few pegs etc out and wnated to make sure it was all secure. Noone questioned than being on site. Today they had a call from the site manager informing them their caravan had been stolen off site, another from our party had also had theirs broken into and trashed. The owner of the site is saying they may not be able to help with claiming as they don't feel negligence has happened. However another van was also stollen and several damaged.. Surely there was no security etc for this to happen in 1 night? They were suspicious about Cctv saying they would need to wait until a certain person of the team was available to check in a couple of days and commented they hoped it was working.
Some individuals insurances have been cancelled the last couple of months due to no payments as self employed with a new buisness etc and no work for a few months. I appreciate this is not ideal but household bills, children etc had to take priority for a few weeks.
Can anyone please advise which insurance policy would be best for us to claim against from the holiday park? I have looked at couple but am u sire if what is mandatory and what's optional but advised.
Many thanks in advance for any positive responses and support.
Stay safe everyone
