Caravan dealers - open when car dealers do?
Apologies if this has been aired elsewhere, but I’ve not seen anything about caravan dealers opening soon. The logic of how and why car dealers can open surely would apply to caravan / MH dealers, wouldn’t it? Both could be equally tricky to manage test drives, internal viewings etc, but both can conduct much ‘business’ in the open air.
I ask because I’ve been unsuccessfully trying throughout the lockdown to contact a dealer who is sitting on my deposit for a new van, to try to ascertain what is the current state of play. I fully understand they might be closed (although website encourages phone and email contact, albeit with no response) through the lockdown, but just wondering if anyone is aware of likely timescales for the industry to reopen.

I am expecting caravan dealers to open next week. There is a list of business types which definitely cannot open and that does not include caravan dealers. There is also a list of examples of the types of business which can open and a reference to ‘similar. I think it is not unreasonable to say caravan dealers and the sales process is similar to that for cars.
