Motorhome insurance premiums

Anyone else find their annual insurance is expensive.  There is a £100 difference with Highway from Caravan and Motorhome compared to Performance Direct insuring us.  I ran them C&M and they only offered to take the £15 renewal charge off!

I also asked Caravan & Motorhome about a reduction on insurance due to lack of use (similar to what I received from my car).  They said they would look at the mileage, then said its low already so I cant help you!!

Any advice or opinions would be appreciated.

I saw last years quote for my 25 year old MH with the Club which was extortionate to say the least, so didn't bother even getting a quote this year. I went through other comparison sites and chose Performance Direct, which came in at less than for my Fiat Panda insurance!  As it happens I bought the insurance this morning

I had insurance on my volvo which has just come up for renewal. I had an extra years no claims bonus yet the premium has gone up by £100.  Or 20%. Phoned the renewal dept and they offered to waive the renewal fee of £15. Big deal.  I wanted to know why but the agent hadn't a clue.

New customers can access better deals, are they in some way a lower risk?

I have now renewed via Volvo insurance who use LV, and saved £200 over the club renewal price.

The club is good for many things but I cannot help feeling that they tried to exploit me and others on this issue.

Would love to hear the club's explanation.

I have used SafeGuard from Swintons for the last 10 years. I have found them to be very competitive. I used them because they give extended European cover as standard. I have needed to use them on a couple of occasions while in France. I have found their service excellent.
