Been browsing CLs this afternoon, mostly ok, apart from reading reviews, which was hit and miss, sometimes got the internal server error there as well.  Thought I'd try CT, but had multiple goes at getting in.  Managed this one by clicking on the most recent poster, brue, and got in that way.

No improvement as far as I can see frown

    Hi all

Apologies for the lack of updates on my part since Thursday/Friday of last week. It's been an incredibly busy few days for me and my team.

The technical teams involved in dealing with the website issues with our various 3rd party support partners have continued to try numerous config, code and infrastructure changes over the past few days; each small change has had varying degrees of success.

As I'm sure you can imagine, while the Club are preparing to re-open the UK Sites Network, the primary foces has been on making sure the UK sites booking journey is stable. As you may have seen if you've been trying to book a UK Club site, we have reduced the threshold for our queueing software, and you may be placed in a booking queue to manage the load on the bookings page. This has been successful.

We are aware that there are still issues with various parts of the site; most notably Club Together, Your Stories and a few of the search pages (eg for Certificated Locations). The techncal teams troubleshooting these issues will be implementing another change this evening to try and rectify these issues. Even with internal testing in the early hours of Wednesday morning, we won't really be able to gauge how successful this change has been until it is fully load tested in the live environment when members start using the site tomorrow.

I'll check back on this thread tomorrow and hopefully provide a further update then.

    Kind regards

    Justin

06:26hrs, no issues re server errors I’ve been on 6 threads without issue. FWIW it’s the first time for a while I’ve been on the forum without being ‘Server error’ slapped👍🏻😊

    That's good to hear.

None of our testers managed to get an Internal Server Error in testing last night, so fingers crossed your success is a sign of things to come for others users of CT.

Haven't had a great deal of time to check but the threads I've been on this morning have all functioned correctly and no error messages encountered.  Fingers crossed.

Justin - It is good to know what is happening.  Fully understand the need to prioritise certain sections.  Best of luck to you and your team.

Latest activity is now working, not hanging up and able to get into pages  that returned server errors yesterday. All seems good at this hour of the morning. Fingers crossed that as activity on the site increases all remains well.🤞

    Thanks for the updates Justin.

Good to see that things appear to be working again but disappointing that on Monday I was twice, in an online chat, told that there was no problem and everything was working fine.

It’s a good job this web site wasn’t an important one that had to keep the country running or we would have been in a right mess , still ,it’s only a forum and we all lived cool

When kit at work fails I'm expected to just fix it .... if it took days/weeks to do so I'd get a kick up the harris, not a pat on the back.

Maybe while the IT team are on a roll they could do something about the near lack of search facility on CT ....

Not a major point, but when I post, I now have to manually refresh the page before I can see it. Never had to do that before, it always happened automatically.

Edit.  In fact this time even refreshing didn't do it. I had to exit the thread and come back in before it was visible.🤔

Maybe user device related? My W10 desktop is behaving as normal in that respect.

EDIT: Whoops! I have made a few posts this morning without a problem, but this post disappeared with the above post by Steve showing as the last one, and then mine reappeared after a few minutes.

I'm finding there's a delay of about 3 seconds on opening posts or threads during which time the screen whites out. It's not a huge issue but Justin might like to be aware.

Edit: I couidn't see my post, despite refreshing, until I left the page and returned. The white out pause was encountered at every stage. (Chrome on Android phone)

After a number of days of "internal server error" I was advised to "clear your cache as there is no problem with the website".Having cleared my computor and my notebook I have now had to remember and re use my passwords for a number of sites.Managed all of that and still got the message "internal server error". I tried this morning and as if by magic it works!

So we have discovered that most of the code is done by an outside outfit who have clearly failed to deliver for a considerable period of time.

    1. On what basis did we engage them?

    2. What penalties are there for failure to fulfil the contract to an acceptable level?

    3. Did we originally just pick the cheapest?

    4. Are we now looking for a new provider of the service?

These are the questions that senior management need to address as a matter of urgency.

    Hi Tim

    Thanks for this.

Had I seen it before this morning's review meeting, I would've mentioned it on the call. There's a follow up meeting later this afternoon, so I'll mention it then.

    Regards

    Justin

    Cheers, Justin. Hope it helps.

I didn't notice these events early this morning, although that doesn't mean they weren't there.

Btw, it's Tin but no worries😀.

Bully for you, Rufs. Chrome is a browser and I use several different ones depending on the device I'm using. They have nothing to do with my superfast fibre broadband. Just thought I'd explain that seeing you're a tad confused by techie things.🤪
