What would you like to have been up to today
Ok, so we have the Fantacy Tour section and let's face it none of us are really up to much. So what would we like to be doing today Here goes - Lovely day so we are off to NT Hidcote Gardens, in the Cotswolds. Strangely there is hardly anyone here (I can't think why) firstly we walk through the beautiful gardens where all the plants are bursting into life. Then through the wooded part, where the trees are covered in tiny spring green leaves and the blue bells are just coming out. On to the open space where we can see right across the Cotswold hills. The young lambs are calling to their mothers as they then run to suckle. On to the vegetable garden, where the volunteers are planting out young vegetables from the greenhouse. Now off to the tea garden, we might even have cake today as they have slices of Victoria Sponge that are calorie free!

Great minds think alike Corners and DEBSC...about a nice cake with a coffee or tea.
But really, I'd like to see the family, meet up with them somewhere or just sit in the garden...our son and family should have been with us next week.
Other than that, I'd like to see the sea and feel a nice sea breeze on my face. 🌞

We would probably also have been in the Cotswolds up near Cirencester. Starting a walk with the dogs from Sapperton along the Macmillan Way past Pinbury Park and on along the lanes to the tiny village of Edgeworth. Stop at the lovely church and sit in the sun for a coffee and biscuit break. Back along the lanes past the Polo Fields and down the Daneway back to the village. Sit in the garden at The Bell for one of their delicious lunches and a pint or two of Old Spot. Then back down to the cricket club (me) for an afternoon watching the game or browsing the shops in the town (Mrs M).
In fact, that's almost certainly exactly what we were doing on this day last year when we had the van at Cirencester Park.

Up in Dalby Forest-North Yorkshire, a big circular hike over the Bridestones circular to blow the winter cobwebs away. To walk thru acres of trees, over brooks & down into deep valleys. Sharing space with family & friends, trees & spring flowers. . .Sigh😕

We tend not to go out anywhere on Saturdays and Sundays during normal times, leave it to the families and Mon-Fri workers. So, other than the horror of the situation the World finds itself enduring, my chosen Saturday is actually happening. I am at home, in the garden, the sun is shining, we are sat outside having lunch, all the house chores are done, so this afternoon I can potter about, pond cleaning, plant poking and send spreading, with our favourite meal of Mac Cheese planned for tea!
The only thing that I would really like to so tomorrow, another fantasy day, is see my Mum and Sister, have a meal all together and a good laugh!😁

A bit like TDA, nothing changed for us, I would normally be in the garden if its dry (it is) then go for a walk this afternoon.
The one thing I would be doing that I'm not just now, is getting the caravan ready for going to Spain.
I would love to be discussing with OH where we are going to make our stops and what we will be doing once there.
Seeing the grandkids would be nice but not something we would be doing anyway with them all living so far away

There’s not a day I rule out for the Forest TDA👍🏻. Dalby(as you’ll know) is plenty big enough to fit everyone in without getting in each other’s way. Most the mon-fri workers hang out at the beginning of the forest near the visitor centre I head thru to staindale👍🏻

We have been used to seeing DD and family almost every day lately, so really missing them, especially my "little helper".
At the moment however, we should have been in N.E. Scotland at the second site of our planned trip. We would have been doing some NT visits and eating lunch out every so often, getting plenty of fresh air.
Not nice enough at the moment to get out in the garden, but that is something we would like to be doing soon, also some outside painting.

We should, like AD, have been in Spain just now. Looking back on the last time we were at L'Estartit, in North East Spain, we had a lovely cycle to a small town inland called La Bisbal d'Emporda, about 15 miles away. We decided to have lunch at a lovely little restaurant and my diary recalls a wonderful Slow Cooked Rabbit Stew with rice and the odd glass of Rioja. I can't see any reason why I can't fantasise about repeating the day particularly as we were able to birdwatch at several small scrub areas en route.
My diary said that we must repeat it next time we are in the area so I just have. I must say it almost as good as the first time.

I’m normal circumstances we would normally be at either The Ranch AS site or Ayr Craigie Gardens club site for the weekend. Both are close to home so we used them regularly. We would have had a relaxing day possibly a drive in to Girvan for a walk along the beach and would now be back at the caravan relaxing with a drink or two.

Normally, I love this time of year; lighter nights, temperatures beginning to rise, flowers appearing, new life and renewal noticeable with each day, and a sense of anticipation of travel for the upcoming Spring and Summer.
But this year is almost the exact opposite. I would like to shake off the melancholy and to be able to exchange pleasantries with a couple of fellow holidaymakers over a cup of coffee in Spring sunshine, and hear their plans for their travels.

I should have been on a stag party weekend in Cambridge this weekend. Shooting, go karting, quad bikes, food, boose etc. With the weather it would have been a great weekend. Instead it will be a BBQ in the garden for just the two of us. Nevertheless I am grateful for being able to get out and enjoy the garden. Cider and wine in the fridge and the steak is marinating.

Know and love Dalby indeed! We like to drive down to station at Levisham, park up over railway line, and then walk up through Levisham Forest. It has the added bonus of the trains, and you have the option of walking up onto Moors close to Hole of Horcum. You could at one time drive the Forest road (no toll) from near Wheeldale, and do the whole Forest, emerging at Levisham Station, but Forestry Commission has put in gates now, residents only. So we just walk it now. Lots of deer, other wildlife. OH rides Dalby from Fox and Rabbit when we use Lockton CL. Heck of an uphill climb😱
Bit too far for us to drive to at the moment, wouldn’t feel comfortable going up there, despite the fact we would probably see no one. It will still be there, meanwhile we dream........😁

Every Easter our Son, DIL and Gkids come to stay. Then each day we meet up with our daughter and her kids and all go out. So today (in my head, of course) we are off to Arlington Court, another NT park. (Like to get my monies worth out of my membership) Once we have piled out of cars the 6 grandkids hug and greet each other. Then off for a walk through the woods. Then down to the lake, while the kids race to a group of old yew trees, where they jump out on us as we walk by. Of course the teenagers say they only do this now to play with the 6 year old! Up to the stables where they climb on a stationary cart, while the 6 year old drives them to Disneyland! After this, every year, there is always a photo of the Gkids taken on the same bench, amongst the daffodils. Then while Nan goes to view the veg garden, Grandad stumps up for snacks and drinks in the tea garden. By the time I get there the kids are in full banter and disscussion as to who will finish the 6 year olds cake for her. Our eldest grandson is now 18 so I think this would maybe have been the last year for us all to do this. I pray that that is the only reason we may not all be there next year.

We were booked to go to the Isle of Wight to our nephews wedding on Saturday, it's also our Golden wedding so a double celebration.
We will now have a High Tea for 2 in the garden which is immaculate after 9 weeks work.

We would have been up near Hadrian's Wall just now heading for the Northumbrian coast and seeing our family up there too.

I do feel for those getting hitched at the moment. Hope things go well for everyone. Enjoy that tea! We eat out in our garden all the time unless it’s chilly.
Right now, I would give anything to be swimming off Porth Kidney beach in Cornwall. It will be nearly deserted (it frequently is😂), red hot, and after half an hour of swimming around, I shall emerge like Ursula Andress with a few shells, and head off up into the dunes for a Philps Pasty........... (the Ursula Andress bit is wishful thinking, too many pasties!🤣)

We know the beach well, the dogs are always sent on ahead to roust out “the poppers”. Don’t mind the nudists, but the “dune lurkers” are something else😲 We once had one strut up to us and friends, complete with a huge device where a device shouldn’t really be, and ask if he could have his photo taken with the dogs! Probably centre spread in that Month’s “Lurkers Gazette”. 🤣🤣
Besides, Cornwall has some excellent more remote spots for a bit of skinny dipping.........👍

Would have been on crantock beach Cornwall walking the dog or may be sunbathing , takeaway coffee from the ex-army lorry cafe ,magnum icecream then back to site for barbeque, then evening stroll to Polly joke beach returning via bowgey inn ,if only!!!

Well the storms I mentioned above, would have been well worth weathering, as this morning we would have been waking up to glorious sunshine overlooking Sango Bay at Durness. Perhaps a walk along to Balnakeil bay later. In fact the whole of the next week isn't looking that bad, as the high pressure asserts itself. Not the 25C of down here but dry and very acceptable. Hopefully it will be similar next year (without the storm😂) We are planning the same trip and I have transferred bookings and deposits where possible and will sort the ones I can't do nearer the time.

I am still in Cornwall, the weather is superb, the sea is warm, and the swarm hasn’t arrived yet. Just meeting up with some friendly locals for a nice meal in a lovely eatery. Keeping those dreams alive.......
