Back in the days before 'social distancing', this Portuguese pig was happy to accept Chas's hand of friendship. (Alvor 2012)

Having been given a talking to last week for stressing over site closures I've now calmed down. My thought was that if we went out and one of us got the virus, even mildly we wouldn't want to pack up and tow back. So caravan is in storage. We picked it up late January and it is the best one we've had. Just feels right. Our garden is minute and in shade so we haven't had a washing line for years. Big stuff goes to the laundrette, small stuff gets dried in the spare room. Laundrette staff said they might close so I bought a line. Under instruction to make sure it was vertical i used a storm strap peg, think about half inch across and like a shepherds crook to make the hole.. With spirit level got it upright. Put wet bedding on it today and it's leaning!!!! Second job was to clean all that plastic under and at the bottom of the tow car that always gets missed. Looks good until we drive it in the wet. Missing being out but the are plenty of folks worse off.

i have a string of DIY jobs to do starting with repairs from gale damage when weather permits.
With this fine weather the garden almost tidy again. Lawn cut, some weeding, planted out raspberry canes and did some repotting and ordered some flowers online for summer pot plants and troughs. Finally repaired the gale damage, wall repaired, trellis re-erected and rockery tidied up. Hope the climbing rose I planted will soon cover the trellis to form a nice patio screen again.
Now about those roof leaks and painting?
Plenty to do.

When I had just a back yard in Cornwall we all had washing lines that rose up in the air with hoists and pulleys, like sails on ships, it's a traditional back yard way of drying clothes in small outside spaces. Hope your washing gets some fresh air and stays up!

This is my version of social distancing, the cows have more sense than most.

Cath's one of the 1.5 million so we aren't going anywhere soon - not even to the park. Poor old motorhome in storage on a cosla site 40 minutes drive away, so it'll just have to tough it out. Pity, because there's a stock of loo roll on board.
On the brighter side, we've had a box of veg and fruit delivered from our village shop, and a Community Response team member is picking up our order from the butcher this afternoon.
Just need a delivery of a couple of 5 litre boxes of French supermarket plonk to tide me over - not much chance of that happening Our daughter in France tells us that the supermarkets are fully stocked and quiet - her Super U in Bourg St Maurice is the second biggest in France and is stocked up for the ski season!

I was just looking at another post from David Klyne about helping out with weather records. If anyone wants to help out with their local family history society or FreeBMD they're always looking for volunteers to download data from home, you can usually choose something you're interested in. Maybe something for a rainy day or evening?

I use a 2018 version of Adobe Photoshop Elements, the cut down version of the full Adobe editing software. For me and for most people with moderate editing in mind it does the job admirably, without a steep learning curve of the more professional range of software.
Moving of the seated person was 90% use of the 'cloning' tool.

My eldest son posted on facebook, (not in the public domain) complete with pictures what they did as a family of four yesterday evening. I was extremely impressed. They simulated an evening out to the theatre dressing up to the nines, djs, bow ties and best dresses. They even printed out tickets, had a posh family dinner with wine before settling down to viewing of a National Theatre show on TV with ice cream served during the interval.

last night we did a quiz with my side of the family last night using Zoom software, which worked pretty well and showed no signs of 'bandwidth stress' even with 7/8 screens open.
conversely, weve also used Houseparty to quiz with OH family and this proved far more 'tricky' to keep afloat...
may be one is more hungry than the other...

Perhaps they also had a pause. Yesterday they had a virtual dinner party. used the TV to display a split screen to show both parties.
I log on to a Friday regular virtual pub night hosted by a micro brewery using Zoom. Apart from banter, we have quizes and play Jackbox.TV Drawful. Works fine as long as not too many log on. The evening passes very quickly.
