So, we collected the caravan from storage today and one tyre looked soft......checked the manual and it states 65psi..... I managed to get to 41 with the tyre sounding like it was stretching too far and it is so hard it feel# like we will be bouncing all over the shop. Is their a difference between compressors for cars and caravans? Silly question I know but are wary about travelling with it as hard as it is.   X

You can use the same compressor on car, caravan or motorhome, as long as it is specified for a high enough pressure. Some are only rated to 60 psi, you need one capable of 100 psi, or more. However, whatever the specification if it is showing 41 psi, that should be the pressure, unless the gauge is faulty, or perhaps not capable of measuring any higher. I always check the pressure with a good independent tyre gauge, preferring not to rely just on the one on the pump. I have found they are not always the most accurate.
