Alde refuses warranty claim

Last week during a cold spell I had my Alde central heating system on in my buccaneer clipper caravan overnight. Next morning noticed heating had failed,checked fluid level,that seemed ok

Thought there maybe a air blockage,checked utube video how to bleed the system.turn the small pump to number 5 and open bleed screw,no air cold water.
As the caravan was still under warranty took it to Caravan&Motorhome Repair Centre in Glasgow for a check.

Now have been told by them that Alde are refusing to honour the warranty as pump was running at number 5 instead of number 2.The heating system never ran at number 5 I was only trying to bleed the system 

Any suggestions

    My only suggestion is that you speak directly with Alde and back it up with an e-mail or letter giving full explanatory details.

    What did  Caravan&Motorhome Repair Centre in Glasgow diagnose as the defect was to make a claim against Alde? Were they the supplying dealer with the obligation to cover the van maker's warranty?

    Alde in our experience are excellent to deal with, I have little doubt should there be a genuine claim on their warranty it will be honoured

    But they would need to be advised what the claimed fault was at least , or to be called in to diagnose the defect. With the latter, should it not be an Adle fault but installation defect someone will have to fund that.

    Typically, it will be the van's maker claiming on Alde's warranty, being their "customer". So IMO you could need to claim on your van's warranty, that covers both the Alde and the installation, are you going the formal route?

     Technically, a very important point to know is whether the boiler itself was getting warm or not. If it was then the problem is likely to be simply an air lock has passed to where it causes problems.

    I had to look up where you took it, we live in Glasgow and I had never heard of it.

    If it is still under warranty, the best place to contact would be the dealer you bought it from.

     How old is the caravan?

    Did it come up with an error code or message on the control panel?Was the led “red” in the bottom left hand corner? 

    I would have contacted supplying dealer first,for their assistance.

    If the pump is faulty and still under warranty it is the dealer who needs to sort it out. It took me a while with this current van which is the first with Alde Heating to discover the pump had been left set on full speed.

    I have found Alde pretty good when addressing issues. I'd be very careful about entering modes and actions I was not absolutely sure about. Misunderstandings or guesses can become problematic and costly.

    This sounds like a cop out. if the pump cant be used on number 5 then there option should not be there. The unit had failed before that point. find out the fault and take back to the suppling dealer and email Alde.

    Speed 5 is used for bleeding the system. However my last 2 vans had been left on speed 5 by the dealers.

    The first was found when I complained about the system being noisy and the second one I spotted the turbulence in the header tank and got them to check it during handover.

    So perhaps there are a lot of vans running on speed 5

    Given the whine ours made when I turned it up to 5 to shift some air, I wouldn't think they would be left on 5 for long.

    Checking out Alde's website, they say that all pumps leave factory set at number 2, so makes you think if dealers are resetting them during the PDI.
