Backpack review, March magazine.
Hello all,
I was interested to read the above reviews and, whilst not denigrating the bags reviewed, I thought I'd pass on one of mine. Many years ago, (at least 25) I purchased a Kipling backpack, for commuting purposes. Not only was it extremely useful for that purpose, but when I commenced studying for an MBA with the OU Business School, I found myself lugging about 30+ pounds of books around with me, in addition to lunch, cycling waterproofs, etc.
The bag took all of this in it's stride and is still going strong, not visibly different now - it's virtually indestructible. The current equivalent is the Kipling on College Up bag, with laptop pocket & etc for about £65.00 online. I recommend it to you.
I also wondered why the army preferred Bergen bags weren't included, as they are pretty good kit too.
Thought I'd share the above, as, thanks to a fellow club member recommending Woosh! bikes, Jude and I are now the proud owners of two 'Bear Mountain' ebikes from this Southend on Sea firm, which are well made, robust, with powerful motors and 17 amp-hour batteries (good for about 60 miles) available for a thousand less than the Raleigh offering touted by the club - just sayin.
Best
Mike
