Caravan cover frayed on vent

Hi, can anyone offer advice on how to prevent my caravan cover being ripped on the Truma chimney vent. After the first time, I wrapped the vent in bubble wrap and duck tape, but in the high winds the bubble wrap managed to work loose and the cover was ripped again. I'd appreciate any tips.

    We tie an old towel over the flue and then put the cover over the top and thus seems to work

    Put a sock on it

    Thanks I think I'll do both using a thick hiking sock and an old towel.
