hadnt needed gas for a while and went to fill yesterday....went to remove the turn and remove 'dust cap' but, despite twisting it, it would not 'pop out'...

it took me anout ten goes and much 'persuasion' before it would come out.

filled with gas and then cleaned the cap and 'hole' before refilling, assuming it was dirt that had caused the problem.

checked again just now and the cap was still tight....sprayed with silicone and still tight....

in the end, i sanded down the circumference of the 'cap' and it now pops out as it should.

worth a check...

Mine occasionally 'sticks' and needs a good wipe.

The reason it often won't move is that I trap the thin plastic cable, which links the cap to the filler, when refitting the cap after filling and is a pain to get off again next time.

    I love my Gaslow system......

Keith, my filler is outside in the skirt....in the elements, hence the dirt 'theory'....all fine now.

I have been using Gaslow refillables for 12 years and have not had any problems with a sticking dust cap but thanks for the heads up next time I clean the van I will pay a bit more attention to it.

Peedee, nor me neither.....hence being a bit stumped/embarrassed to be stood at the pump and not remove the cap....

as we are 'away' on Tuesday evening, and the gas was a bit low, i wanted to fill here as the LPG price is still low....im glad i wasnt 'stuck' at a french pump in the rain...

ill exchange my large Repsol when i cross the border...
