I used to have one,it was ok unless you had a blowing exhaust or were unable to get the exhaust outlet near enough to the caravan.(I dumped it 2 years ago when moving house). I have seen mobile tyre fitters use an air jack that is supplied by a 12volt compressor but I believe they are quite expensive to buy!Back to the original query........single axle van....use the mover to align the receiver as there are very few occasions when the van can not be moved 2 or 3 inches.

Unfortunately different tyres front and rearsurprised

Plenty of cars, especially Mercs, have different tyres/wheels front & back skinny spare wheels won't  be the same size as either.

(Even my Smarts have different wheels &/or tyres front and back 😉)

My exhaust jack has a bung to deal with "twin exhausts" that are in effect two pipes out of the same box.  It also has a Schrader valve to blow it up from a compressor - goes up quite well with the proper 12v compressor I use for the Land Rover.

These are widely used by people who take their vehicles off surfaced roads, and also by fire and rescue services.

Not always 2 or 3 inches, sm, when the valve falls inline with the bolt hole space, as is more often the cast I find!yell

O.K. mine does that quite often but I go around the block again and there is a good chance that the valve will be in a different placecooltongue-out

The alko wheel lock is a hub lock. Many insurances companies permitted a wheel clamp - provided it met their approval spec as some do. Might be a possibility but would mean you talking to insurer. I was looking for insurance a few weeks ago and noticed this and also spoke to insurer out of interest as I am happy to use the Alko lock

I mentioned this once to our storage chap and it was getting tight due to a railway sleeper at the back of our 'pitch' and he said that if that happens then take the van out and do a complete 360 degree turn using one of the turn buttons only you will gain those couple of inches!

It said it always works for him? I've not yet needed to try it.

Once I've got the van onto it's parking area I don't want to take it out again, hitch back up, drive round the block, re-park the van only to find that it's no different!wink
