Must pay more attention to the latest series of ads. They are clearly a source of ready paraphrases.

I was going to start the same thread. Nothing, it seems, is sacred these days. Still, I guess it works from Tesco's point of view because we've noticed it! frown

How long before Pizza Hut/Dominos/Nandos et al have Vivien Leigh using her famous line "I'll never be hungry again"?

Where is Tesco’s proper Christmas advert all jingles Santa & co, colourful & uplifting🤷🏻‍♂️. We don’t want no blurry old B&W movie with no atmosphere or SFX. Oy Tesco get the meerkats or Aldi’s carrot onboard, get a wiggle on👍🏻👏🏻👏🏻😎

So once again we are to be subjected to major companies vying to be the most awful at Christmas, on TV adverts.

By the way did you realise that Aldi's ad contained nudity?

The young carrots did not have a single stitch of clothing on!

Relax RF, I don’t peel my carrots, I just scrub em, so they’re naked but clean👍🏻

Advert snobbery😂😂. I feel the same about classical music, no beat just a dirge fit for funerals but some folk like it🤷🏻‍♂️, go figure eh?. I guess I’m suffering reverse snobbery👍🏻

It was in response to JVB mentioning the John Lewis and Waitrose Christmas Advert which is usually much anticipated by many members of the public and the press. Great fun but lightweight and probably by Christmas we will all be fed up with it. On the other hand it might be the one thing that makes having a General Election two weeks before Christmas palatable? See here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r9D-uvKih_k
