Hi All,

We have a Abbey vogue 460 2007 and the shower only stays hot for about 3 minutes. As we are new to caravaning i was wondering if there are any tricks to make the hot water last longer. I think the hot water tank is under the seat and i take it that you cant replace it with a bigger one. Any info would be great.

If you have a choice of heat settings, select the highest then dilute with cold at the point of use to make the hot water go further. Don’t forget that as you use the hot water in the boiler so it will be replaced with cold.

Don’t use the shower as you would at home but turn it on, get wet all over, turn off, apply shampoo/shower gel, turn on and rinse off.

There is not a hot water tank as such but the boiler and tank are a combined unit. If it was bigger, it would take longer to heat and/or need a bigger electricity supply in terms of amps.

As TW says have the water heater set as hot as possible. However, at this time of year where your mixing water is starting to get colder, 3 / 4 minutes continuous at a reasonable shower temperature is the most you can hope for.

An old trick we used to use was to fill the water container with warm water! So incoming water wasn’t cold. However, we weren’t using a 40 litre aquaroll!

The tricks you get up to down the years.......😂

If you have the option set the water heater to use both gas and electric. Adding the gas option tends to heat it up a bit quicker.

I had a 2007 Vogue 470. Using the "stop/start" method, it was always adequate for us both to have  a shower without any significant delay between the two.
