Hi, Anyone have experience of fixing carver water heaters.

Mine has a leak I am pretty certain it's from the big round seal on the cylinder tank. Which looks relatively simple fix.

However, at the end of the rank where the nuts are there is an earth wire attached but it isn't attached to anything else has anyone any idea what this earth wire is suppose to attach to.

It is still attached to the cylinder but I cant see where on  the other end attaches to.

Any help greatly appreciated and I'm hoping it only the seal that's leaking and nothing more complicated.

be aware that spares are difficult to obtain, there is a specific torque setting for the nut,the rod will probably be corroded as will the tank.good luck!

Hi thanks for the info on torque it must be very low torque as it needed very little power to loosen it. I have found a seal kit on eBay and will fit it when I get it. I can't see any other place that it can leek as I have tested the tank and it's sound just not sure of this earth wire.

Time will tell I expect in pretty good at fixing most things especially if you can get something on utube.
