Next Year
So, what do you have planned for next year? Once Brittany Ferries release sailings for next year, I’ll be booking a crossing around the start of May, for a month long trip to France. We will no doubt be visiting the ‘Lakes’ at some point, coupled with a trip to the Yorkshire Dales. Apart from that, nothing planned.
Mods, please feel free to move if in the wrong section.

Next year? This one's not ended yet so let’s wait for it to arrive. There are far too many unknowns to plan that far ahead. Not least, at my age nothing can be taken for granted.

Obviously you are.
Next summer is around 8 months away so plenty of time yet.

What’s the problem, Freddy? I see nothing inappropriate with your thread and have decreed nothing. You’re planning for next year but I’m not, so what? We do things differently.

So, what’s your point? I’ve not been rude, not insulted you, not ridiculed you or your thread. I merely have a different view. Can you not accept that just as I accept yours?
Look, Freddy, you’ve completely got the wrong end of the stick here and misinterpreted my posts. Let it be, eh?

I contributed my view, as I have every right to do, but it just didn’t happen to be the same as yours.
Actually, ref your edit, the only reason it’s going nowhere is because you’ve got rather bogged down.
Now, move on, shall we?

We have been going away early December through to early January most years since 2004. The New Forest is our choice, in the main we have been lucky with the weather, we have only been snowed in for a couple of days twice, it is beautiful in the forest any time of the year, but the snow made it magical.

We're away for at least a week, every month throughout the year and after Christmas at Sandringham, the only place we have booked, so far, for next year is 10 days in May in Northumberland. I suppose we have become a bit set in our ways and tend to go back to sites that we know and like. We will probably have two weeks in August at Thornthorpe CS near Malton because it's school holidays and that site is AO plus a short driving trip to High Breame CL at Flamborough whenever there is a vacant week.
Since I have a 'big' birthday in June, we will no doubt go somewhere different for that, but other than that, it's up for grabs

No plans for next year yet. Typically we think about that during late November. We usually look at sites/ areas that we have not visited before or not been for quite a while.
This past year has been typical of previous years in that we stopped at 22 sites and 11 were new to us as a couple. Some I visited nearly 25 years ago. Most of the remainder we had not visited for 4 or 5 years or longer.
The only site that we regularly visit each year is Southport from mid December for two weeks. Not yet booked for this year but shall do today
There are only a handful of sites that we have visited 3 times or more in the last 15 years.

Freddy I think some folk miss out by not touring in the autumn/winter/spring, I think it can be a totally different experience with the changing seasons. We normally do long weekends Thursday to Tuesday and stay fairly local. Our January break is usually 7 to 10 days though. Weather isn't much of an issue for us.
For our Easter trip 'over there' the Stena timetable is already out and prices seem much as this year.

Freddy, it's nice to look ahead even if plans have to change sometimes. Like you we hope to go to the Lakes, in fact I've already had to book the site we like next May as I know it will soon be booked up. Good luck everyone with all the plans!
