It Certainly Pays to Shop Around
One of the heater elements in my Truma water heater has blown and so need a new one fitting. Speaking to Truma about this I was told it is not a DIY job and they gave me a list of their approved service engineers in our area that are trained to fit the elements.
First of all I was gobsmacked at the price of the elements £262.00 but then emailed three of the engineers for a quote for doing the work (including fitting a new filter housing which is another job that needs doing). The difference in their charges is staggering considering they are doing the same work with the same Truma parts. The difference between the dearest and cheapest is £225.00. How can anyone justify this difference?

Justify difference?, that’ll be cupidity. Good old fashioned greed☹️. On the upside at least they’re not all within pennies of each other👍🏻
