Auto stop/start when towing with an automatic

We seem to have strayed into 'brake light dazzling' one good reason to use the handbrake and Neutral or Park is if someone hits you in the rear, say for instance at a busy intersection, you dont go hurtling out under power into busy traffic.
The only time i leave the footbrake depressed is if i am the last in a queue of stopped traffic and I want my brake lights to warn rear approaching traffic that I am stopped. Otherwise Neutral, handbrake on. Stop start engaged, unless i am towing. Its how I was taught to drive many many years ago (before stop start !).

Just had that last Wed ..... apparently though it was my fault because I didn't move when (almost) everybody else did (I didn't move when almost everyone else moved because the car in front of me stalled and prevented me from setting off )

When towing our Caravan with our Automatic V W Tiguan 4Motion.I always turn the Stop Start Off. One reason is engine the needs to be running to keep Fridge working. I realise Stop Start reduces pollution when Stationary for example when waiting at Traffic Lights.
However I do find it is annoying waiting at Roundabouts and road Junctions and it operates when you need to move of quickly. So it's often turned off.
One question I have. Our Car has a Coasting function Should it be used when Towing?
This function is fuel saving giving me on lengthy Solo runs a average of 50 M P G

My tongue was in my cheek 😉 It just amused me when she tried to blame me for not moving when she though I should have and then to add weight to her argument said well ... you'd been going slow all the previous road .... again, it was rush hour traffic and everyone was going slow.
In the hands of insurance 👍
