Especially on the phone, they charge exorbitant premium rate fee and will place you on hold, occasionally picking up call then putting back on hold.

It’s not a con, but it is not the best way of dealing with unwary customers, using a premium rate call service. There is a landline number given, however no one picked it up when I tried it.
You can put a bar on your mobile, (and probably your land line) that won’t phone such numbers. They were much beloved of those ace crooks, Banks, a while ago, but recent legislation has made things a bit better.
