If there was a prize for the ugliest Motorhome, this would surely be the winner.

In a world of dreary homogenized white boxes, that’s a thing of great beauty and distinction.

I don’t see it as ugly. I see it as something in need of a big restoration and then taking it on tour. It would be like marmite on a Club Site, some would love it, some wouldn’t like it. But it wouldn’t get ignored, like most of the soulless white boxes you tend to see. Much prefer things of interest, done out to our likes and dislikes. 😁

They say beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I think ugly is a misplaced word in this context. It is certainly interesting and unusual but I don't see it as ugly. Perhaps you could post a picture of what you consider to be a beautiful motorhome so that we could cross reference?

Some of the modern behemoths with towering codpieces over the cab are hardly a thing of beauty either. Aesthetics with a box on wheels is always going to be tricky.

Was this Ultra Van a conversion of one of the diesel rail-cars with which the Germans were experimenting in the 1930s ?

It is dated, but otherwise I see no problem with its looks.

It looks quite smart in an old fashioned way so it would not even get on my shortlist.

Admirably honest list of "good points, bad points" from the seller! .... assuming there weren't other hidden bad points too, of course :-)
