Layby locations

I have tried (unsuccessfully thus far) to locate a lay by on the A6 between the A14 and Bedford so that I can meet up with family members on our journey South. Short of "driving" down on Google Earth, has any body out there got info where (if any) there are maps that show the locations of a lay by on our British roads?

Never heard of a map showing lay-bys, but you could Google lorry parking and see if that offers any help. Even if you located a lay-by, you won’t guarantee it isn’t full of HGV.

The problem being that even if someone knew a layby it could well be full of lorries. Even with our motorhome we can have problems. A large supermarket might be the answer but there doesn't seem to be any along that route. Google Earth might be your answer.

Thanks. It will be a mid morning rendezvous so HGV's should not be a problem. Strange that some other counties have this info online. Ah well. Back to the string and a lodestone...

Look what I found...Mr Google is such a help.

LINK to HGV parking (input a post code and see what comes up.)

Too much time on my hands I think but I hope it's useful! wink
