From what you post you don't need a caravan to site but to be able to use as & when necessary so a good idea would be to look at your situation with a practical head as I guess you basically 'fell in love' with the interior fixtures & fittings of the LMC. A family of 4 plus the possibility of 2 grandchildren and all the necessary other things you will need to carry (Awning, clothes, food, etc) needs to be thought through carefully in order to have the correct balance between caravan & your tow vehicle. I have found that posters on here will always try to help where they can but at the end of the day we all have to make our own decisions. Again Good Luck. p.s. Spoke to dealer this morning - who apparently told me ! Trying to keep the peace as not to lose out - anyway he suggested looking at one he has that is a Tabbert 560 single axel so will go have a look - anybody know anything about those ? He said it’s legal towing limit ?

Wow! Just read from beginning to end of both your posts. What an introduction to caravanning and if this doesn't put you off...nothing will!
Once you get sorted you will settle down and enjoy what can be a very fulfilling hobby/lifestyle. Along with many many others, we have towed all over the UK and Europe and built up mega stores of memories. Sounds like you had bad advice from the outset but persevere, get sorted, and all will be well and you'll reap the benefits eventually.

Hi Paul56 - I’d be lying if so far I hadn’t lost a few nights sleep! Today has been a good day and I feel like I have had a weight lifted...... I went back to the dealer who still won’t admit he has not been honest and upfront. However, he has said I can exchange it for another one there was an LMC 595 which I loved but stuck to my guns as it’s still 22mm over and went for a good old English Swift fairview 645- it’s cost me another 5.5k which I will have to probably perform some illegal activities for but I feel relieved to have finally sorted it. The good news is my Range Rover can tow this one too so not got to pinch hubbys pickup. So back to quart one and having to learn all about a different van now just as I had got to grips (well almost) with the LMC.

Delighted to read your latest post. Fingers crossed for a full night's sleep tonight 😂 unless the excitement keeps you awake 😂😂.
Hopefully you'll soon be using it and making memories as well as de-stressing. The latter may take a bit longer in view of the previous!
Get yourself/ves away in it for a night or two locally, you can go back for anything you've forgotten to take, to check everything works and familiarise yourself with your pride and joy. Don't forget there's good advice available on here - even if it isn't what you were expecting. Incidently if you but the additional on a credit card or finance there'll be extra assistance if issues do arise. Which I sincerely hope there wont be!

Thank you all - not the best nights sleep - possibly excitement but got to go sort finances and empty LMC swap insurance etc etc so lots to do before returning to the day job tomorrow. Great advice and some handy links too. Will let you all know how it goes !
Next query is tv - I’ve looked through some threads about TVs to use. My swift has what looks like part of a wall mount there it’s plastic with four screws in but cannot see how this would fit anything in ? I’ve brought a normal wall mount and 23” tv for bedroom bit but the living area has this section extra bit too. ? Any ideas ?

Great news, and sorry you had such a bad start, but i think most of the posts were trying to be helpfull when we realised what had occured please keep posting on here and let us know how you are getting on there is a lot of help on here usually so do not think that it makes you look "silly" no matter what you need to know we have all been there

re the wall mount most fit by attaching to the rear of the TV with four bolts/screws as you describe so maybe thats what it is-previous users having simply removed the TV.
re buying a 'normal' wall mount just be aware that caravan 'walls' are often no more that thin board with little mechanical strength so be carefull where you place it.
Have a look at any info on the van, manuals/brochures etc, which may show a location for TV mounts allowing you to check if its suitable.
You could always see if your new TV will attach to the existing mount first?

Good advice above re the strength of the walls. If you do wall mount a TV at all, do remove it and store it safely when towing, do not leave it in place.
We place ours on the bed wrapped in the duvet.
Our layout is different from yours, we also have a Swift group van, our bed is to one side, so we have a TV mount that allows the TV so be swung from bedroom to lounge and it is mounted in a prepared position on a thick board so quite sturdy.
If you are proposing a brand new mounting position in the bedroom area, I would be very wary of attaching it to a wall that you do not know the strength of. A side of a cupboard where you can bolt it right through and strengthen the cupboard would be my preference, and certainly not an outside wall. Where the outside wall is designed to have something fixed to it, it will be strengthened with metal plates, you can actually ask Swift, via their forum, to send you a diagram of where any such plates are in the wall.

Any ideas ? There is a vision booklet in pack but think that is for the tv mount that’s fitted for awning

If it has grooves down the sides it is probably the receiver for the rest of the mount, which is still attached to the previous owners TV. I fitted something similar to our TV bracket, to avoid the need to screw it on and off each time. The TV now just slides and locks into place. However in our case the moveable part of the bracket is on the wall. Perhaps in this case it is on the TV.

On this model caravan there is a door on the outside of caravan with a tv mount and connector in apparently for watching tv whilst in awning .

Just and idea/thought - I may be wrong but I seem to recall you now have a Swift Fairway and if so I too think it could be a dealer special possibly from Broad Lane Leisure. If it is it may be worth contacting them for help/info. about the photo you posted.
