Retail customers' contracts are with the dealer.
Many companies have been put into administration so that they can be bought out debt free. The loosers are their suppliers, staff, and shareholders. Company goes on as before.

The losers will be the customers with defective vans where parts won’t be available. I have some sympathy with the dealer that I part exchanged my Lunar with just a month ago. New floor and front windows required, high levels of damp on rear panel, all new decals etc., etc.. Despite losing £2.5k on the deal I am, as it happens, quite happy and satisfied

Brue, ‘some companies’, if I believed it was Lunar I would’ve put their name👍🏻. Rest assured if I knew Lunar had fatalities the fact would be there in my post.

I suspect that the problem has been with the management rather than with the staff. Quality control is a management function.

Management created the problems; the staff suffer as a result. The workers will end up with nowt while the "management" will, no doubt, be OK.
Never had a Lunar so can't/won't comment on the quality, or otherwise , of their product.
My sympathies lie fairly & squarely with the staff.

BB, I always believed they were interchangeable, so I had a look on ‘tinternet(Northern spelling-with thanks to Peter Kay) it seems they are interchangeable too👍🏻😊

We have a twelve month old Lunar and this is the second time we have had the builder go into administration soon after we bought a caravan. It does mean that we no longer have a warranty unless some very generous buyer comes along and that means the dealers are now liable for faults under the Consumer Protection Act and any finance or credit card business who provided cash to buy or for a deposit.
You do wonder how many dealers could go with Lunar if the warranty claims add up.
So far ours looks good and passed its first service without problem. We were lucky when Avondale went down as the caravan did not have problems but others were caught out badly.
If the business closes I assume the parts will be bought up and will be available for some time, although you are looking mainly at the body as everything else is common to most other makes.

I was looking at a new Lunar Alaria Ti online this morning. It was reduced from £34000 to £27000 - no wonder! Folks will have to look at other options for an 8ft, end washroom, transverse bed caravan now.
There'll probably good deals to sell off the stock if anyone dares to buy one.
Always sad to see a local company struggle let alone the workforce who are let go

Anyone Like me with a Lunar less than 6 years old and with damp issues can take them up with the supplying dealer under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 requiring the dealer to provide repair or replacement due to the van being not fit for purpose and not of satisfactory quality.

Wonder how WN will fare, as he has his relatively new Lunar booked in to the dealer for a couple of warranty jobs to be done tomorrow? Hope the dealer will sort them out.

Got to the dealers early, before the sales and admin people were in, so that I could have a prelim report from the Service Engineer, who is very straightforward and upfront about matters. He says he's going to put the 'van up on the ramps and investigate all angles, whether it's delamination or axle problem or something external like hitting a large pothole at speed. Admin people hadn't told him I had other work apart from service to do so he's asked that I give him a bit of time to fit it in. No problem as we're not planning any trips for 2/3 weeks yet.
We did have a bit of a chat about Lunar and he said he had heard rumours in this last week about them but as he say the industry is full of rumours. He thinks Hobby might now step in and pick it up as the liabilities will now be negligible.
It's also been said that the management at Lunar have or had some sort of a tie up with a local to us dealers, who have just recently significantly reduced their stocks of Lunar! See what I mean about rumours.

Not at all surprised that Lunar has folded. It’s always the same- it was with Avondale- QC goes out the window and then bang! They’ve gone. Lunar have had many problems for many months. Water ingress not being the smallest! Who’s next? If British manufacturers don’t sort the ingress and poor workmanship problems out, another company will go under- shame but the weak fall by the wayside.

Can’t say I’d noticed, BB, but since you raise the point, they are two different words. Difficult to define, but “none” as in “there aren’t any” of something, and “non disclosure” as in something has not been disclosed. I think there may be better explanations in the thread that I haven’t reached yet.

Meanwhile, a business seems to be folding and people’s livelihoods are in jeopardy. All far more important than a debate over use of the English language which was, in my opinion, inappropriate to start in the context of this thread.
