Well tomorrow is the big day when we collect our first caravan, Elddis Crusader. We happened to pass the dealer on Sunday and the it's out front, already set up for the handover. Can't wait. Apparently DPD are delivering the tow cover tomorrow morning as well. Talk about timing - or leaving it to the last minute. No doubt I am going to look for advice here in the future. Please be gentle!

I certainly will. The OH has said she is going to video it. So we should have a record of most of it. Maybe she should start a Youtube Channel :-)

Hope that you've a couple of nights booked on a site close to the dealers, or at the dealers themselves if they a site attached, to try out your new van.

Good luck with the new purchase. If you are worried about hitching and siting after you have left the dealers try u tube as there are several good videos on there. Videoing the hand over instructions though is worth while.

Thanks for the comments folks. No we didn't get to set up near the dealer as we are 130 miles away. It's Ireland nothing is close. We have it home now and partially set up (on the farm). The most nerve racking part was stopping in a motorway service area and keeping watch over our acquisition.

We are currently testing how everything works in the comfort of our own space which is great as we don't have to make our mistakes in public. No doubt that will come. smile

Hope that you manage to sort out all the application. You are doing it the right way....at your own pace.
