Given its age, a scavenge around a vehicle breakers might produce parts that will suit your vehicle although not necessarily from a MH.

Isn't that what you pay a Garage for, leave them the vehicle and they source the parts and carryout the repairs?

If anyone is interested, my Deleted User posts in Mac's two threads were a form of cross referencing and pointed him towards the forum.😐

Moderator Comment - There is no need for that cross referencing as Mods will move any post in the Story Section that should be in the Discussion area!

No, if you're like my OH and pals you'd be phoning for scrap spares etc and seeing if you could do some of the work yourself and if you couldn't the local garage will speed the process up with the help of your newly found spares. OH did a lot of work on our daughter's old van, the garage did some too. If you know your local garage well it seems to work. E bay is another great source for parts.

Many Garages will not fit parts supplied by the owner, to much hassle when the owner comes back with problems with what they supplied. Its certainly something that never happened in my time in the workshop and I still have friends who run businesses and won't do it.

From what I gather, the OP is not capable of carrying out his own repairs.  TBH any Garage who can't track down a service kit for a carb from a motor factor or specialist  cant be up to much in my opinion.

There was a purpose for your link TW if it was the cross reference to the posts that I suspect as they were in a thread with replies regarding likely reasons for Mac's running problems. Don't be too put out though as the moderator may not have been aware.

It might be worth looking around a few autojumbles for something like door handle. Many items such as this were interchangeable across models, and sometimes makes, so you might just find a match. eBay is the obvious first port of call in this day and age.

Hi Mac, we have an excellent scrap yard nearby, try Silverlake, near Wickham, they basically break vehicle and store parts, used a few times good website and very knowledgeable team.
