I have started this new discussion so we can collect the information in one place and the links will be at the start of the discussion on each page!
The information has been collected so far from these two discussions “LPG Gas filling stations”and “Safefill - gone bust?”

To add or correct a filling station (that allows filling of refillable bottles) please leave a post here with:

Seller/service station name
Address/location of supplier
County & POSTCODE
Any helpful location info
Website link for site/supplier

Or there is a form you can fill which will help me update the sheet easier! Form
Link to Spreadsheet (can sort by right clicking the head of the column and select A-Z etc)
Link to Map (can zoom in on area and click icon to see info on station)
I plan to keep this up to date! Johnny57

    What a useful tool👍🏻

Perhaps a mod could consider giving this Sticky status? Maybe the other Sticky is no longer needed?

    Very good Johnny57.

Just one small detail, Riverside Garage is near Gillingham Dorset , not Kent.

I've added 2 on the other thread.

    Also add:

    Brayford Leisure,
Broad Acres, Moor Ln, Thorpe on the Hill LN6 9BW

Not suitable for fixed tanks, only removable refillable cylinders.
You have to ask in the shop and someone will take the cylinder round the back to be refilled.

I should also say they supply Calor bottles (to keep the Calor moaners from doing what they do best) wink

Would be useful to know when an outlet, which is not also a petrol station, is unsuitable for taking a large vehicle to, as indicated above.

Or to have a phone number to ring and check.

Great service so thank you, but dare I suggest you have a column with a tick confirming they "tolerate" refilling of a truly portable cylinder like the "Safefill" and Gaslow's portable variant, rather than fixed?

The point is that they all allow it.

    From the OP:

“To add or correct a filling station (that allows filling of refillable bottles) please leave a post here…”

ocsid and the person who "likes" this post :

The thread concerns filling stations that will fill refillable lpg cylinders (free standing bottles), so no need for a separate column.

I wonder how many contributors to the list are similarly confused.

    Hi Oscid
I hope I am only listing what members confirm as stations that will allow filling of portable cylinders so no need for a tick, all should allow or fill them. If you know different please say and will amend.
Do you have any to add to the List?

On that theme, the Shetland gas site is definitely suitable for a large towed outfit to use.

[Deleted User User], I have looked back at who posted it I see it was yourself so as you can't confirm if they fill portable cylinders I will remove it.
    Thanks

I made the comment in that, albeit a couple of years back when I went round outlets doing my own local availability search, the listing # 31 Shell at Tichfield, along with every other forecourt near me, refused  the filling of a stand alone portable.

If that has changed, without resorting to any clandestine out of view filling, I would very much like to know. I would need to transport the cylinder in a car, then get it out to stand it by the pump, as no way will I fill it with it stood in the boot or passenger footwell.

They filled our Safefill no problem.

Johnny57 - three that fill free standing bottles

    Autogas 2000, Carlton Miniott, Thirsk, YO7 4NJ

Town End Garage, Casterton, Kirkby Lonsdale, LA6 2RX

Treales Garage, Kirkham, Preston, PR4 3SR

Also worth listing is Roseberry Tourist Park, Willingham, Cambridge, CB24 5LT - the owner installed a bulk lpg tank to fill motorhomes and loose cylinders for his customers but i don't know if he accepts "off roaders" - but worth a nights stay to fill up all yer bottles.

    https://www.mylpg.eu/stations/

I live in Spain and use this site when touring here and further a field but if the UK version is as good as the Spanish one it will be good, filled up last week in the mountain region near Granada with the help of the POI provided for GPS

I agree Merve it shouldn't burt you know there will always be one who knows better!

I have now added Morrisons LPG filling stations as I see it. I did asked Morrison for a list they say dont have one! It appears they say there are 59 on there website. I have more listed but if someone spots one that does not sell it anymore do let me know.
Could do with a few more around Scotland and anywhere else please.

    Hi Phil.
Yes know of mylpg and there are others eg www.filllpg.co.uk etc
I am listing only the ones known by members to allow filling of refillable bottles (ones that can be removed from the vehicle) like Safefill, Gasit etc. As it is time consuming ringing round or driving around 3-4 filling stations before someone fills or allows you to fill your bottle. The other lists are of all LPG filling stations (some won't let you fill bottles)

    Morrison LPG stations now added.
Anyone else that has a list of where they fill up refillable bottles when out and about please do let me know

Despite the clear warning of "no portables" on the easily accessed LPG pump, if you make sure they know you have a "Safefill" you can top up here:

    BP Sholing

    430 Bursledon Rd, Southampton SO19 8NG

MyLPG has a 'verify' process where customers can add a time/date stamp of their visit, thus showing users that the station is still active...

however, as you say, this is currently updated by those who get LPG for their fixed systems....Gaslow etc.

what Merve was alluding to was for MyLPG to add a 'safefill verified' slot/field where the time/date of a Safefill visit occurred.

this would prove very useful and as phil says, is a Europe wide resource...

coming from an IT background I'm very conscious of having data replicated in multiple locations as it will (almost certainly) get out of line.

if MyLPG can be persuaded to make this small change to their website, perhas this should remain as the 'master' data, where any Safefill friendly sites garnered here should also be passed to MyLPG.

I certainly think this is a great place to collect real time Safefill data and the spreadsheet is really useful, locally, but there are very many Safefil users who don't get onto CT to see your efforts but who use a generic well known resource like MYLPG and would find a new tranche of relevant info very reassuring.

    great work.

Johnny 57. Well done for doing this. Far superior to the LPG filling stations that I started..

Obvious you have put a lot more effort into it than I did.

Discussing refilling with the  service station above this morning, where they wanted to identify it was a Safefill, then going online to see the design for 2019, 10 kg has radically changed, here there might be a conflict.

They said, don't both to come in, just lift it up so the kiosk can check; now the original red and white with its lozenge holes was very distinctive, at least in the UK, but the 2019 changing to a more solid red, plus grey, IMO introduces an issue, in not being anywhere as distinctly different  to an exchange, from a distance.

Thank you so much for this!

As I feared no refillable cylinder for the best part of an hour away from Dunstable - and none in Cornwall where we are booked to go on summer holiday.
