Parking in Cromer, Norfolk

Last week we visited Cromer and it was a delight to see on the cliff tops off Runton Road a vast expanse of parking suitable for all vehicles. It is very easy to access and very convenient for the town. It was very refreshing  to find this when parking areas in some other towns had height barriers.

Yep, we’ve been stopping there for years.

It’s also good for dog walking and has some sort of snack bar/cafe on site.

Mind you, it’s very exposed when the wild winds and rain sweep in off the sea.

The height barriers were removed from the Runton road carpark some years ago to encourage motor caravan visitors to gain access, but the NNDC are under "pressure" from some residents to have them reinstated after an invasion by about 20 MVs from the other "touring fraternity"a couple of years ago

Let me clarify that by ‘stopping there’ I mean for an hour or two, not overnight. 😱

We like the shingle car park up at Cley as well, and Brancaster. Both are paid though, but I don’t recall the charge being much. Again, nice place for a picnic, but we don’t overnight there.
