Motorhome interior valeting?

Hi all!

I've just picked up a second hand motorhome - very much bought as seen where the interior is concerned (MOT & Hab check all done and clear though).

So I'm hoping there might be somewhere where I can get an interior valet done? Make sure the bed is nice and clean and cupboards scrubbed etc. I've tried motorhomevalet.co.uk but they no longer so interiors.

I'm hoping for somewhere around London/Middlesex but happy to travel.

Any recommendations?

Hi Miranda.  You might just have to roll your sleeves up and get on with it yourself.  I'm sure it would be very satisfying.

It is the same as spring cleaning your house, but in miniature! To deep clean as you seem to require will also be expensive....

I feel I was unsure of its cleanliness I wouldn't be certain it had been cleaned to my standards unless I did it myself 😉. A nice way to get to know your new purchase too. You don't have to complete it all at once either.

Hope you get to use it often and enjoy. We're a friendly bunch so ask away no question is too trivial 😂😂.

Motorhome seat cushions can often be unzipped and they can then be dry cleaned as can the curtains. Probably not a good idea the try washing them because of possible shrinkage. If its a proper mattress you might want to consider buying a new which will not only be clean but probably more comfortable? The rest is just elbow grease I am afraid, you will just have to steel yourselfwink

These aren’t too far away from you

No idea on prices. Our secondhand purchase had been fully valeted when we bought it, we do things ourselves now after each long trip away.

Personally I would get a carpet and upholstery cleaning firm in. We have a Vax carpet shampooer with an attachment for upholstery. Had it for over 12 years. OH's car was a tad mucky when it was 12 years old and I cleaned the seats. Perfect.

Our present caravan is 18 months old and we had two accidents. Half a cup of coffee on my seat and half a glass of coke on OH's seat. On both instances rectified several weeks later

I tried autovalet, was waiting for someone to get back to me with a quote. Was just hoping there might be some inside info ;)

The upholstery cleaning sounds like a good idea, though!

But if anyone does know someone who can do it, please let me know. A dodgy back and lack of time puts a dampener on doing it myself.

lack of time undecided. you said in another post that you will be touring the uk and Europe working from MH so where's the time element come into it. I think the next question will be does anybody know of any servants that want to come along on the journey. Some people.

I'm currently short of time because I'm finishing working on a full time project so that I CAN go freelance, whilst also packing up my flat/delivering stuff to storage/recycling/charity shops until the lease runs out on my flat in a week or so. So yes, I'm pushed for time *right now* and I'd like to get it clean whilst I'm sorting out my current flat.

I'm not asking for a servant, I'm asking for a professional company which I'm happy to pay for for this initial clean to make sure Im not sleeping in someone else 16 year old sweat.

When I initially started planning this, everyone said to join this club and post for help in the forum as I was told everyone would be friendly and willing to help...I'd really love to know how me wanting to save a bit of time and backache has insulted you?

Can see where you're coming from now 😉😂

Is there a local cleaner who advertises? What about cleaning companies, national and local,  we are inundated with leaflets through the door. No different to household cleaning. Just ensure they don't use chemicals on the windows and gentle products on bathroom and other fittings. What about car/vehicle valeting services near you?

You can always purchase a mattress topper - that way it's only your sweat you sleep on😆😉😂

Not trying to be insulting, but an hour or 2 with a mate and job done. I'd help for a couple of cans of Guinness.( but to far away ) Haha. Renew your mattress, It's not just sweat but the other bodily fluids after 17 years  of use. surprised

Another thing to think about before travelling the world is has the van been serviced and has the cam belt been changed at the intervals advised in the handbook.???An MOT doesn't mean the engine will last. Sorry, not trying to put a downer on you exploits.
