MayDay
I have a new car with Full back up and breakdown cover together with "Caravan Cover".
Why do I need MayDay?

No idea without looking at your cover
What is included in your "Caravan Cover".
The one time that I bought a new car to use as a tow vehicle it came with full car breakdown and recovery. It would not have matched my requirements though

As MM says above and also: Will it cover you if you are 30 miles away from a caravan site that has your caravan on pitch. Will they take you back to your caravan and then home with car and caravan when you are ready to be recovered?

The other thing about Mayday is 'Double Journey Cover'. If you breakdown on the way to a pre booked site, you can choose to be taken to your destination and then if your car cannot be repaired in time, your car and caravan will be recovered home at the end of your holiday.
There are also size restrictions on the size of your caravan, if you need to be recovered. Thee is no restriction with Mayday.
Some operators, e.g. RAC categorically state that dogs must travel in the broken down car. Mayday are a little more flexible, but even then there are no guarantees.
This are just the first things that come to mind....

Basically you need to see what cover you have and then look at what extra you might need. Most breakdown cover is very restrictive and may only provide caravan recovery if the caravan is attached to the car and limit the length of the caravan. You need recovery if it is on site and you are off site touring and if the caravan has a fault or the driver if there is only one is taken is ill or injured. Double recovery is useful but not for everyone
Without knowing what you have and what you need it is difficult to say more but the service is good and very reliable The RAC offering through the C&CC is slightly better but way more expensive. The main difference is that if your caravan is kept in store then they will take the caravan to the storage and the car to your home or repairer, Mayday do not guarantee this.
