Why oh why do our members think it is ok to dump grey waste on a hard stand pitch? I know on some CL sites they welcome the extra water on grass sites in warmer months but as far as I am concerned it’s a no no on site. Just witnessed this at Abbey Wood , water was full of suds so from sink waste. The staff on this site work amazingly hard as do all our staff. Why would people do this, wouldn’t do it at home?  How would these idiots like to pitch on a site where previous owners had dumped their dirty water? Come on people, we are a club, protect it for everyone!!!!!

    I don’t think 'our members' consider it acceptable by any means, just the thoughtless few. Tell the warden when you see it happening so the offenders can be given words of advice to enlightened them. Unfortunately, your message won’t reach many on here.

    Do you know, I don’t ever recall encountering this issue.

    so you mean no wastemaster/equivalent at all?

    This is very peculiar and unacceptable behaviour and even first timers should know better. Let the wardens know and deal with it mg.

    I have noticed the "problem" also but was it deliberate? i can own up to our pitch having suds on it a couple of timessurprised

    1 when on a site we had a storm over night and had just emptied the wastemaster, which was blown away from waste pipe and we did not realise until later in the dayembarassed

    2 OH did not realise i was emptying wastemaster and decided to  wash the dogs blanketkiss

    3 we have also noted motor caravaners open the waste tap then get it and drive off emptying the waste as they departedyell

    I have to admit we have seen this happen, in fact it was us embarassed totally by accident I must say.

    We were in our MH and thought the tap was turned off so waste water would go in the tank. It wasn't and it went onto the pitch, very little as it was just from cleaning our teeth. It was the smell of toothpaste that drew our attention to the incident.

    JVB, your last comment is a regular occurrence which we've noticed on many an occasion. It seems that some are just too lazy, or can't be bothered, to use the drive-over drains provided.

    Yes this was deliberate, saw the chap open his tap in daylight and even came back several times to check if it had stopped. Not deterred by us watching him. Yes I did report to site staff.

    Usual few? Yes, I've witnessed a thoughtless antisocial few dumping waste water in this manner but not sure what is meant be the usual ones? Haven't noticed any common factors amongst them!

    This is an increasing trend JV. It's amusing though when having a chat with the motorhomer involved you always get the same reasons / excuses for their dirty behaviour. It's not just "over here" though. Where we overwinter in Spain, the popular wild camping spots literally reek of drains. Not knocking anything at all as the "over there ers" will start shouting, but while chatting with our local Guardia Civil officer, he said the general feeling is they'd like to ban wild camping countrywide because of the rapidly increasing disrespectful behaviour of the visitors in motorhomes AND caravans that like to park free. It will never happen as parking is legal unless signed otherwise, but you can see the trend there and here. Just sayingundecided

    It is, of course, not acceptable but starting a thread on a forum is not going to solve the issue. If you were that concerned you should have reported it to the warden who would have investigated and taken action. As nothing will be achieved by posting this here I will close this thread.

    It might have genuinely been ignorance. When we were in Bunree last year, there was a couple across from us in a hired motorhome who didn't know it wasn't the done thing to open the drain to the pitch.

    The OP says he did tell the warden, David. What happened next we'll never know.

    Why close the thread when it might help enlighten newcomers?
