Cheddar Club Site is a disaster
Just returned from what I consider to be the worst club site I have ever stayed at.
When you approach the site , on very narrow roads, there are no visible signs to see and its easy to miss the site and get bogged down in a housing estate. There are signs but down at low level and the wardens told me that the council will not allow any other signs to be erected, despite the fact that the private site next door has huge double sided signs that cannot be missed.
The entrance off the main road into a very narrow lane is treacherous, this get worse on entry to the site which has a tight turn in and as the warden says causes him to keep repainting a white post that is hit nearly every day.
Pitches on site are in some cases tight and scruffy, grass was long. Toilet blocks are tired and although reasonably clean drastically need a facelift. showerheads were broken and not really clean.
Wardens tell me they are only 2 people who work 21 days without a break and then a week off..it just does not work.
We were hit on the main road turning into the site despite the warden standing at the road side to see us in.
others also had damage and so many would not return,
Do not follow the route shown on the Clubs route finder, it goes via Wivelscoombe which is virtually impassable to caravans.
IN SUMMARY A BAD EXPERIENCE NEVER TO BE REPEATED !! And I've caravanned for 30 years
Moderator Edit:
This is really a site review rather than a discussion and the best place for it would be on the club's site page. I'll leave it here for a couple of days so that you can repost as a review as I'm not able to move it.

Wiveliscombe for Cheddar!!!!
This emphasises the need to follow the club's written instructions, not a sat nav and not a route planner which is not fit for purpose.
