I don’t think you will find a CL within walking distance of an East Coast mainline station to be honest, although there are a good few along the actual line itself. You need to search the CL network and put in Morpeth, Alnwick (for Alnmouth station), or Berwick area and see how much of a walk it looks to station. If you use Old Hartley Club Site, you can use Metro link to get into Newcastle, and from there Berwick. Look for other CLs along the Metro route, as it does go out to Newcastle Airport area. We know Northumberland quite well, and to be honest I think you might struggle to find a LNER station within 2-3 mile walk.
Berwick has a huge car park close to town, lots of really big MHs parked up when we visited in ours last year. It’s not overly expensive to park for day either, cheaper than rail tickets!

If you're staying at Old Hartley you can get a bus straight into Newcastle, Tynemouth or Blyth, every ten minutes! To use the Metro you'd need to get off at Whitley Bay/Monkseaton.
For Berwick it's a 20/30 min walk into the town over the old bridge from the CAMC site. Nice walk along the Tweed as you go.
Agree with TDAs points about where to look for alternative sites. I think if you've only got three nights you'll need to be nifty with the rail timetables! But hope you find somewhere.

There is a CL near Morpeth... Countryside Cottage, Longhurst.. which is 2.3 mls from Pegswood station. This should suit your requirements, but I don't know how often trains stop at the station. Here's it's web site.

A long fair walk from the site to the metro though (although an excellent cafe at the old station there), about an hour I remember.
Buses/metro will take that into Newcastle from the site. people always mistakenly think the Whitley Bay area is 'next' to Newcastle, it is not.

No I meant you'd have to get the bus and then get on the Metro at the places mentioned into Newcastle itself, so easier to stay on the bus unless you wanted to try the Metro.
Probably not what the OP wants if looking for a CL but useful for others going to the area.
