Overnight at Poole Harbour

Hi there, After a bit of an enforced break from caravanning my son & I are taking the Poole to Cherbourg ferry from Poole in June & I'm wondering if there is anywhere at Poole harbour to overnight before an 8.30 am ferry?

I've enquired at a couple of CL's via e-mail but not had a response. Budget isn't a problem, but it is only for 1 night prior to the ferry the following day, literally somewhere to put the legs down on the van & crash out after the drive down from Merseyside, 5 or 6 hours or so, close proximity to Poole would be handy.

Check out this site, JM. Seems you can stop overnight at the ferry terminal.

This is the response I recieved to an email asking that question of Brittany Ferries.

    Good afternoon,

    Thank you for your email.

Below is an insert from our website detailing the parking facilities at Poole.

    Regards,

    Adrian

You cannot leave your caravan in the port car park.

For early morning sailings and late-night arrivals, you can park your caravan or motorhome overnight in the vehicle check-in lanes for £10. Your vehicle is parked at your own risk and should not be left unattended. No port facilities are open overnight.

we use the Poole ferry port regularly and overnight there, very convenient.

the charge, which used to be £5, is payable in the café....but how many 'get round' to paying, I couldn't possibly comment.

I didn’t pay anything last time I stayed over and the price then was £5/night. Nice to have hot coffee and bacon rolls at 7 in the morning

We stop there in the ferry lines regularly! The facilities have always been open all night!

I'm pleased to say that I have heard back from a CL near to Poole, so other than a very earluy start we have a suitable place to stay. It is good to know for the future that Poole is amenable to resting up overnight before the morning boat. No doubt we will make use of this in the future.
