Grass cutting round pitches

I recently stayed at an "open all year CMC site" where the first grass cut of the year was carried out round the pitch I was parked on.  You could see that over the winter quiet a bit of gravels found its way on to the grass and felt very nervous about the situation with a rotary mower passing the  "pitch border".

Just as expected I heard a crack sound from the side of my van and then ( to my disgust) found a dint in the vans bodywork . An incident Im currently taking up with the club. Surely the wardens should be better trained in this aspect of maintenance ?? . Has this happen to other members I wonder ?

    Morning

That shouldn't have happened at all. I'm a site warden and I can assure you the club invests heavily in training so I'm surprised and somewhat dismayed at the news. You should  speak to the area manager of the site you stayed on as that staff member obviously needs further training.

That is a truly appalling story. Good luck with the follow up. Not been hit with stones but on a CL outside Keswick one year the farmer decided to start spreading manure - and yes it came within 5 m of the van. we had our own little island of green grass among a sea of brown!
