Travelling from Near Chester to the Wharfdale site an I am wondering whether better to leave M6 at Junction 31 and follow A59 from there or whether to use M6, M65 and A56 to pick up the A59?

Anybody have advice?

Alan

We live not far from junction 8, M61.  We always travel via M61, M6 and off at jn 31, A59.  The A59 is a good road, a few lights and villages, but no problems.

Have also tried the other route you mention, via M65 and A56, and found it more tedious and slow.

We find M6 and A59 much more straightforward.

EasyT, have you tried the Sites Book directions , they are usually spot on.

They say to use A59 but it is where to pick up the A59 that I was seeking advice on Chrystal

I would agree with InaD and use the A59 from J31.

The M65 and A56 could be ok but you have to get round Colne which can be a tad tedious, and it does pass Boundary Mill shopping complex which can get busy (and expensive if oh wants to have a look!) at times.

The A59 is almost a straight run, nothing much to negotiate and even Skipton is easily bypassed.

You could also use M6, M65 and come off at Junc 7 (Accrington) left at roundabout, 100 yds turn right (A678 Clayton le Moors), next lights turn left (A680) follow till rejoins A59. I use it many times to miss traffic at Salmesbury on A59, speed cameras and queues at Colne.

    Enjoy Wharfedale
