Dealership undertaken works without our knowledge

Hi everyone..

I’m after some advise please.

We picked up our new (2016) caravan from the dealership yesterday and are now on our first trip away.

Upon setting up we noticed that some repair works have been undertaken without our knowledge or consent.

The front interior seems to have been replaced. The wallpaper and wooden trim/shelf below the window is different from the original. There is bright white sealant in the joins, plus remnants of the old wallpaper and what looks like sawdust in the locker box.

I have emailed the dealership and am awaiting a reply. I’m so angry that they obviously identified an issue and didn’t tell us. What should have been an enjoyable first trip has been tainted with worry about what we have bought/ what the issue is/ is our warranty now effected.. etc etc.

We have evidence this was done after we paid and had a handover session as we have photos taken at the time which clearly shows the original trim had been changed.

Can they do this?

If they have fixed an issue then I’m pleased but to not tell us seems completely out of order. We are Young/ first time caravanners and feel they have completely tried to pull the wool over our eyes.

We’re also concerned about the resale value being effected... it’s quite obvious the front interior is not the interior as the wallpaper is completely different.

Help!!

thanks

Sam
