when we bought our swift conquerer 480 secondhand 2008 model, in june 2018, it had to have the fridge replaced due to the element packing up. roll on this year getting ready for first trip away this weekend, and switched fridge on 240v and  left for 48 hrs and the freezer compartment didn't seem to be working, so switched to gas and put a thermometer in the compartment and the temp was rising checked the vents and the top one was warm, so I rang the local dealers ( thetford agents) and I can drop it into them and the will check it as and when they can due to being a busy time,  they said it sounds like the element has gone. is this a replacement part or another  fridge as its not even 12 since fitting.

    If it's not working on either gas or 240v then it sounds to me to be more than a failed element

    I agree MM. Both electric and gas - very strange. Never heard of that before.

    Our van is a 2018 Lunar Cosmos bought new from Campbells in Preston. Just before its first service in November last year the fridge suddenly stopped working on 240vts it would work on gas fine but not on mains. At the service Campbells discovered the element had failed a warranty claim was made and we got the element replaced last month. It was quite a quick job Campbells only had the van for a couple of hours to fit the new element and so far so good it is working fine.

    Could  it  be  the  12v  feed  to  the  CONTROL  CIRCUITRY  that  is  at  fault  ??

    { Its  a  while  now  since  I  have  had  a  3--way  fridge  so  cannot  be  sure undecided }

    sorry about delay I have power at the fridge,  I have gas at the fridge its just not working on both, I have taken it to a thetford approved repair and they have had it a week and still not looked at it they say they are busy with other jobs. told them I am away next month so need to know. when we bought the van they fitted a replacement fridge that both 240v/gas didn't work hence a new fridge fitted, now this one is the same.   the fridge lights up when door opens so power there, and the gas ignites when switched to gas I can hear it fire up. the top vent is warm, but the fridge not cooling.

    today had a call to collect the fridge said the 20amp fuse had blown, so got it back connected it in the van,  I switched it onto 240v and have a thermometer in the fridge and after 2 hours the temp has not dropped, also now it wont ignite on the gas yet had it bleed through as hob is working.  looks like it wil be going back.

    fridge now working, went into the van to pull fridge out to take back, and thought I would try the gas again and bingo it fired up and the fridge was cooling left a thermometer inside and its working ok, so switched to 240v and that's now ok. happy days.
