Modifying Whale duo control panel for fan only op.

I have a “Duo Control Panel” (picture attached) for my whale space heater in my xplore 304.  The whale duo control panel does not have a “fan only” option, which I’d like to have whilst using the van abroad.

According to the space heater manual:

whale space heater manual

p12./13  The fan can be independently switched from the control panel (terminal 3) and there is a 3 way JST connector provides the 3 power settings for the electrical heater.  Can anybody advise how I could best get “fan only” operation (ex. Disconnect the 3-way JST connector or connect terminal 1 to terminal 3, p.12) ?

Obviously at my own risk etc.

If you turn the gas/mains electric off to the heater will the fan still run as it will be 12v ?

Thank you, your comment has given me a couple of ideas.

I'll remove the JST mains connector, I think that will do the job.  I have a feeling that I've once been on a site and the mains has failed but the fan remained running.

Alternatively, if I turn off the gas whilst in gas heating mode, the fan will continue running and the control panel will just throw a fault.  So as long as it doesn't burn-out the piezo/ignitor(?) by continually attempting to ignite, this could be a simple work around for some scenarios.

Turns out if you manually trip the “heater/boiler” switch on the MCB, the heater is turned off, but the fan remains running. So this is the workaround.
