Pre booking price increases.

Can anybody out there explain please why my bookings made last year on the rolling year have now all increased?  I know the prices went up in December but I thought only for new bookings after the set date not ones already booked. It seems that the Club are pulling a fast one in hoping you don't notice. All my bookings have increased some by a substantial amount. I will try the live chat on Monday but wondered if anybody else has spotted this?

It was announced on the forum late last year that, following the price increase in December the prices shown on 'My Bookings' would be wrong. Talking to a warden on site during December they told me that there was a flag on bookings made before the change and the wardens would do an adjustment to match original booked price.

And on arrival on site the warden then has to calculate the correct price, which was the price in force at time of booking (before 5 December when prices went up).

After the price rise, all booked sites in "My Bookings" have been changed to the higher price, but you won't pay that, providing you booked it before the 5th of December.

I speak from experience, as I booked Chirk last October for this January, the price went up in "My Bookings", but on arrival the correct price was paid.

yes the prices will corrected on arrival at site, but until the club changes its booking system to record the price which a member booked at (not the price when he takes his holiday) this manual correction will continue to be required...

its a glitch resulting from the introduction of rolling prices where this issue wasn't thought through, so now we have a perpetual fudge at the till...with My Bookings showing (possibly) incorrect prices.

TUI, at all, seem to understand how to retain a price in a customers order pertaining to the time they booked...

still, it'll be allright at the till....but why not make the change once, and get it right?

Do you have cheap minimum facility motorhome pitches with late arrival?

indeed +100, but would you expect certain posters to pass up a chance like this to have a go at the club and re-start this topic again?

It's like buy one get one free (or post one, post another free)

    no, I'm advocating the B-side.....'change the system'...wink

perhaps you're perfectly happy explaining to loads of confused customers that their bookings are priced wrongly but not to worry.....

i imagine you're pretty bored with that one, too....

the point is, it is (or should be) as easy to get it right as it is to get it wrong......

well, yet another customer (Derek) has realised the club's balls up...

we can tell him the situation like it is, or we can fudge it.

“we can tell him the situation like it is…”

Which Easy did in the very first post. Quite succinctly, too 😗

We were at Warwick this week end and when we arrived and went in to pay, the warden said that the fee was more than I was anticipating when I queried it he said that's what the computer says and he cant change it.  I booked this along with a lot of other week ends well before the December date and wrote the prices in my diary on checking today all the prices have been changed. I don't keep the notifications and find that if you book a few sites at once you don't always get a confirmation for all the sites, is there any thing I can do? Sneaky or what!

Contact the club and complain in the strongest terms.

Btw, I always get confirmation emails for all bookings, even if all done together, and I always save them into a separate folder.

Yes I will contact them tomorrow, I have just noticed they have changed all the prices on my bookings page as well. I have always wrote in a diary when, how much and what type of pitch I have booked,  Even turned up on one site for them to say I hadnt booked a serviced pitch once, After trawling through my Deleted User emails I managed to find my confirmation to prove otherwise.  How many more people are they conning this way.

    Over the page EasyT posted

"It was announced on the forum late last year that, following the price increase in December the prices shown on 'My Bookings' would be wrong. which sums the situation up well.

Just spoken to head office and they have confirmed that there is a flag on the bookings so that the wardens can amend the original price, however so far this year four booking have not been honoured.  I have been advised to e mail head office with my complaint.  Going forward don't rely on the sites to charge you the original price as it seems some wont.

the latest market leading 'mechanism' for getting prices right at the till might well have been immortalised by William Heath Robinson if he had been around today....

he was, of course, an English cartoonist, illustrator and artist, best known for drawings of whimsically elaborate machines (processes?) to achieve simple objectiveswink

One moral of the story - don’t delete emails until you’re really sure you won’t need them.

I wonder if by being "honoured" they meant that 4 members have contacted them to complain about being overcharged. How many have not noticed the difference in price, been overcharged and not made any contact with HO?
