Now that the Aberdeen West Peripheral Road is finally open will the club be amending the directions for SIlverbank at Banchory?

Would seem to offer an easier route than going over the Slug Road as is the current suggestion?

Glad to hear it is open. Spent many a frustrating hour on the old road. It might be worth reporting the details to the club, as they cannot update these things until they learn of them.

It is a bit longer to go on the new "Lang way roon" as the locals are calling it, plus having to double back at Milltimber as there is no direct access to the A93, and the traffic in Petercoulter.  Think I, and most of the HGVs, will stick with The Slug - when it's not closed by snow.

Having towed over the Slug many times with big vans and small I don't mind it at all but feel the new road could provide an easier alternative ... if a bit longer.

After our summer trip to Silverbank I always head to Smithy Croft CL near Fraserburgh so well used to towing along the North Deeside Road into Aberdeen then north on Anderson Drive.  Hoping the AWPR can offer an easier alternative to this too.  However when coming south from Fraserburgh I feel I may well still be going via Aberdeen Harbour rather than the AWPR.

I'm pleased to see the AWPR open at last.  It will be a great advantage for heading south to Forfar, Dundee etc..  For me, if has no advantage for getting to Silverbank as I cut across via Inverurie.

I would have thought that coming from Fraserburgh (the Broch as locals call it), you would pick up the AWPR at Blackdog.

Coming north, I appreciate that it isn't great for getting to Banchory, but I've always come north as far as Garthdee and turned west beside the Dee and then joined the A93 at Milltimber.
