Yes Thurso and Wick, both have good museums too, Wick is particularly quirky, lots of fishing history and small rooms full of interesting stuff. So don't rush through just for the scenery!

We used to smile at the UK's most northerly Lidl in Thurso over looking the sea, now superceded by one on Orkney.

Fuel is another matter, make sure you know where you can top up and opening times too, you'll be unlikely to find a 24 hour one. But I see all the info is on the 500 web site, no sense of adventure really, it's all done for you. wink

Wick - Old Pultney's distillery tour is one of the best!

No sense of adventure - You just need to remember the NC500 is all about bringing money in from tourism, so misses some of the best roads in that area, which is why its best to explore.
