Wheel Lock
Hello All,
New member and new caravanner, so hello
I've just agreed to buy my brother in law's Avondale Dart 556/6, it's a 2004.
Trying to get the insurance down a bit and thought about a wheel lock. Al-ko say their's won't fit. So anyone got any recommendations that will fit this van and also get some sort of discount?
Be gentle....

you could try a Milenco, not cheap, but easy to fit, just fits over 1 wheel nut and locks on. No wheel lock is secure as you will be told no doubt by others. I use a basic Milenco primarly to satisfy the insurance company should my caravan ever get stolen. Shop around on the internet .

we bought an Al-ko one but I wish I had got the Nemesis one as it looks easier to fit see here
We had a Dart 556, great layout if you have kids.

Might be worth taking a look at the club's Classified ads at the top of the page if you haven’t already done so. You may find a suitable one in your area at a reasonable price that will get you some insurance discount. Good luck & enjoy your c'van.

We have an Alko hitch lock and wheel lock, also have the nemisis as in my view the more the merrier, but more importantly when you are on site, you are probably safer than when the van is unattended during storage, that there is a visible deterrent. Hence the nemisis is visible on the non awning side of the van as the awning and a-frame cover mask the other two.
The Nemisis is by far the easiest to fit. Once it has been set up correctly, it takes about 3 seconds. If you do go this way, set the key allignment inline with the main body so it is less fiddly to remove, as you will know where the slot is. All will be clear when you have a lock and key in your hand.
Not sure what wheels are fitted to your van, but you can only fit this lock to wheels that have slots/apertures, not solid wheels.

All, it would seem i am not only a new caravanner, but new to navigating the forum too! Managed (eventually) to re-find my thread
Thank you all for your comments. I'm going to go for the nemesis i think as it reckons it is compatible with steel wheels, looks the easiest to fit and is a nice visual deterrent.
