I’ve not used the site, JD, but know where it is. The A39 from Wadebridge is a good, wide road. The A389 is OK but narrows after St Issey. I’d not approach from the Little Petherick/St Issey direction from choice although it’s doable with great care - beware of the granite boulders in the hedges. As you can see from the aerial view, many have succeeded in visiting the site before you.

Too near home for me to stay there, but if coming from England access is easy enough.

Leave A30 dual carriageway just west of Launceston on to A395 - which leads you to A39 through Camelford and on to the Wadebridge by pass, turn right near agricultural showground on the Padstow road to the site. (Just don't tow a caravan through St Issey village )

I've just had a quick look on GoogleEarth. Doesn't look that bad to me unless you meet a milk lorry or a combine coming the other way.
