Abbey Wood Site
Been here since Wednesday, what a great site for visiting London ,10 minutes walk to the station and 30mins into the city centre. And when your on site the wildlife you see is great .Many squirrels and we have had a fox visiting ,green parakeets ,Jays and many other species. The site itself is excellent and the wardens very friendly and informative.Leaving in the morning to go to Morton in Marsh but have really enjoyed our stay.

Totally agree B&J we thoroughly enjoyed our week there a couple of years ago and we fully intend to go back. The train is certainly the way to go, 30 mins to London Bridge and not that expensive with a pay as you go Oyster Card. We did get the bus to Greenwich once, but that took for ever, so couldn't imagine going all the way into London, even though we wouldn't have to pay with our bus pass.

We haven’t actually looked at the localitiy ,our main reason for the visit was to see Andrea Bocelli at the O2,so we also have spent some time visiting the city.

Certainly found it good for access to London via train in the distant past. Not a big fan of being in London but there are indeed a number of points of interest and I could be dragged back by anybody with a spare team of wild horses.
We have used the site for a 3 night stop off in transit elsewhere but then I have no desire to enter London.
I did use it many years ago to access London over a few days to show my youngest, then 14 or 15, the city and it's parks, speakers corner, museums, etc.

We were there in 2015. It had been substantially upgraded from our previous visit many years before. If you want to go the Greenwich it might be easier to take the bus as its a bit near than the station (at both ends) and drops you right next to all the attractions. When Crossrail opens (2019?) all rail journeys should be quicker. In the summer its nice to take the Thames Clipper in the City along the Thames from Greenwich.

Love Abbey Wood - had always used Crystal Palace previously but it was a bit of a drag to get to from the M25 over QE bridge, although the bus journey into London on the number 3 to Oxford Circus was always enjoyable. Changed to Abbey Wood and got the train into both Greenwich and London, great journey especially back late at night after the theatre. Only a 10 min walk back to the site. A large Sainsbury in walking distance too if you need to top up the shopping.
